DVLUP for Germany

Published on Friday, October 18, 2013 2:00:00 AM UTC in Announcements

In case you missed it, here's a small reminder that Nokia launched its DVLUP program in 20 more countries, including Germany, on October 8th (press release). If you don't know what DVLUP is, you clearly missed something during the last year. Introduced in 2012 in the US and Canada the program uses a "gamification" model to challenge you with various tasks around app development. Not only does this push your apps and open new opportunities, it also rewards you with virtual experience points that can be traded for not so virtual, valuable prices later.

The reason for my quick post is some confusion that came up lately. Nokia promises devs who sign up for the program until October 31st a welcome gift of 100 additional experience points. Various people mentioned that they didn't receive their points upon registering for DVLUP – which is intended! The important detail many miss is that the welcome points will be awarded on November 1st for everybody who signed up. So please be patient, I was assured that you all definitely are going receive your welcome gift :).
